Applesauce Cake

2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
3 cups applesauce
4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups raisins
2 cups nuts

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs and applesauce.  Sift together dry ingredients and mix all together.  Mix in nuts and raisins. Bake in loaf or tube pan 1 1/4 hours at 350 degrees.
