Spanish Rice

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup diced celery
3 1/2 cups canned tomatoes  (approx. 2 cans)
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 cup raw rice

Brown beef, garlic, and onion.  Pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients except rice.  Cook until steaming.  Stir well and sprinkle rice over meat mixture.  Cover and cook at low temperature until rice is tender, 20 to 30 minutes.

This recipe is from Glenda Dietrich, my cousin by marriage.  We got together occasionally with her and my cousin Perry when busy lives permit, and we always enjoyed talking and eating and laughing.  Then we wonder why we dont get together more often.
