I have been adding recipes for a while to a new cookbook so I could find them when I wanted to cook them. In the electronic age, a digital version seems to make more sense, since I can add, amend, advise, adjust, delete, and reconsider as often as I want to and you can access them if and when you please. I've included the recipes from my original cookbook which many of you have. I'm also going to be adding pictures as I retest many of these recipes. They aren't the latest thing or nouvelle cuisine. They're comfort food, good memories, treasured family recipes, and occasional treats as well as many healthier recipes I've grown to like in recent years. I encourage you to add comments, pictures, and favorite recipes to make this a real family cooking spot. It's the next best thing to sharing a meal.

Amelia's Dump Cake

You need

canned cherries [16 oz. can cherry pie filling],
canned pineapples [16 oz. can crushed pineapple],
cake mix [1 yellow cake mix],
2 sticks butter.

1.  Put cherries all in a pan.

2.  Put pineapples over the cherries.

3.  Put cake mix on top of all of it.

4.  Pour melted butter on top

Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Amelia dictated this to me when she was about 12.  Her comment:  "Dump cake is very good.  It is really called cherry cobbler.  My Mom is the one who taught me this.  If it does not work the first time, tell me.  If you like cake, cherries and pineapple, then cook it.  This is a very easy thing.  If it doesn't work you can ask Judy Hadden (my Mom)."  Amelia made this cake for us at the beach one summer.  It did not last long.  She has the recipe memorized.
