1/3 cup shortening
1 egg1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup molasses
2 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
Cream sugar and
shortening. Add egg, flavoring, and
molasses. Beat well. Add dry ingredients. Roll dough and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
