1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Dissolve sugar in water
on medium heat; add nuts. Stir together
and cook on medium heat until all syrup is gone and mixture starts to sugar
up. Pour out onto ungreased cookie
sheet. Spread so nuts separate. Bake at 300 degrees about 30 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes.
This is a recipe I got from a neighbor at St. George Island. The nuts are really good, so I bought 10 pounds of raw peanuts to make for Christmas presents. Then I couldn't find the recipe, which showed up in plain sight after Christmas. What I didn't count on was how much one recipe turned out to be. The peanuts seemed to grow! I think we still have some of the raw peanuts in the freezer.
